The events organized by the institute and those in which the institute is involved are announced here.

In particular, the biennial IFS seminar held in December - a joint event with the Deutsche Maschinentechnische Gesellschaft (DMG) - should be mentioned here.

In 2017, the International Railway Symposium Aachen (IRSA) was held for the first time. In future, this event will be held every two years, alternating with the IFS seminar.
The fourth IRSA took place in November 2023. Preparations are currently underway for the fifth event from November 19 to 20 in Aachen.

During InnoTrans in Berlin in September 2024, the Research Center Railways (RCR) - the research center for rail transport founded by the IFS, the Institute of Transport Sciences (VIA) and the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) - was represented at the VDV stand in Hall 2.2.
